We are proud to have supported Age UK Wandsworth with a £3000 donation so they can host dance and yoga classes for older residents in the borough.
Since May 2025, they have been running a range of classes hosted by accredited tutors, experienced in working with older people. Based on an average attendance of 15 people per session this donation would result in 900 attendances by older people who live in Wandsworth, over a 12-month period.
The funding delivered the following outcomes:
Increased physical well-being: Encouraging consistent participation will help older adults maintain their strength, balance, and flexibility, reducing the risk of falls and improving mobility.
Sustained independence: Encouraging travel to sessions extends physical activity and ensures use of free public transport.
Sustained engagement: A structured, long-term programme will ensure participants remain committed and motivated to maintain their health.
Enhanced mental resilience: Regular engagement in group activities will help combat social isolation, and feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression among older adults.
Greater access to healthy food and hydration: We offer participants a healthy snack including fresh fruit at every session. Fresh fruit and snacks encourage better nutrition, aid recovery post-exercise, and ensure hydration.
Increased signposting opportunities: Social sessions allow staff to direct individuals to relevant support services.
I just love coming here, being with others and dancing along to some good music”

Yeah I really enjoy the session. I used to dance a lot but I can’t do it a lot now, but that’s ok. It’s all about joining in isn’t it?”
